I think Breakfast in America was maybe the first album I owned. I bought a guitar from a fellow Peace Corps volunteer while in Ouidah, Benin, traveling all over with it until I found a new home for it in Split, Croatia. There&#8217;s probably a story. <br><br>Anyway, at some point, much later, I started going to open mic in Seattle and performing a few standards. Then, later, I started writing my own songs, and was performing weekly on zoom sessions during COVID19 when many venues were closed. After returning to in person, I&#8217;ve continued to write and play guitar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My favorite part of this has been hearing how some of the lyrics of my songs resonate with people.  My songs come from a sense of urgency in addressing the climate crisis.  There should be like a genre or a movement to bring people to the emotional point needed for action &#8211; i.e. not paralysis. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m inspired by extended family members and friends who&#8217;ve put out full albums. There&#8217;s no time like the present.
